MA in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts (Thesis and Non-Thesis)
Gastronomy is a multidisciplinary discipline that has links with tourism, culture, art and food. The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Master’s Degree Program aims to train specialized and qualified experts who are able to closely follow scientific developments and advanced technologies and alloy them with their own experiences, who have a good command of business ethics and professional values, and who can work well as part of a team.
Turkey has witnessed a recent increase in the number of theses studies in the “gastronomy” field. The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department provides comprehensive training in the historical changes in food and dietary habits, modern culinary trends and the creation of local culinary identities, the relationship between food and culture, cost management in food and beverage enterprises, the development of new products, the relationship between cost and productivity, customer relations, service functions and the significance of gastronomy in sustainable tourism. Students enrolled in the Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Master’s Degree Program also receive hands-on training as part of their Master’s degree studies.
Those who graduate from the Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Master’s Degree Program will gain the ability to use gastronomy-related scientific research methods, and will gain the skills required to reach, compile, interpret and assess information, becoming knowledgeable and specialized individuals who can contribute to the food and beverage sector, or follow an academic career.
