The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department is engaged in the study and protection of the rich Turkish cuisine in an academic environment; and in the training of gastronomic experts who will promote this culture internationally, who know all the subtleties of the Turkish and global culinary arts, who have an artistic sensitivity, who can work in a team, who can carry their profession further by adapting easily to developing technologies, and who can compete in international and national competitions, representing the Turkish culinary culture.

Why Should I Study the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Cappadocia University?
The Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department aims to train future leaders in the culinary arts field with its unique and innovative education program. The program is structured to develop business and culinary application skills simultaneously. Our students gain intensive experience through the hands-on training provided in the Uçhisar Arts Campus gastronomic center – Turkey's leading business and gastronomy kitchen – where they learn the latest and most advanced cooking techniques. The individual skills, knowledge and creativity of the students are developed through such courses as Turkish and international cuisines, cake and dessert production, recipe development, and service and presentation techniques. Furthermore, our Tourism and business management courses provide our students with the skills and qualities necessary to manage their own workplace or to work as managers in the tourism sector.
Applied training is provided by our chefs, who have enriched academic education with their national and international industrial experience, and who have made a name for themselves in the field of gastronomy. Our chef trainers, who were among the first graduates of our cookery program, provide high quality training to our students, while at the same time being excellent role models.
The Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department conducts most of its training in the practice kitchen, with a ratio of 51% of all classes at the program.

Graduates of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department can work as cooks, chefs, head chefs, managers or business administrators in the private sector in hotels, restaurants, food factories, airline companies and other food and beverage businesses. They can also find work in the research and development departments of food companies. Aside from these, graduates of gastronomy and culinary arts can write and consult in the field of food and beverages.
