Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Tourist Guidance departments have been awarded the Accreditation Certificate from TURAK, authorized by YÖKAK.
Cappadocia University's Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Tourist Guidance departments have been awarded accreditation certificates from the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK), the only organization authorized by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in the tourism field.
The accreditation certificates for the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Tourist Guidance departments, which have been accredited by TURAK, were presented to Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar by TURAK member Prof. Dr. Celil Çakıcı at a ceremony.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar commented on the meticulous implementation of the accreditation process, stating, "One of Cappadocia University's missions is to enhance the quality of education. To ensure the sustainability of this mission, TURAK accreditation will raise standards in areas such as continuous innovation, curriculum development, institutional collaboration, internal and external stakeholder interactions, and alumni communication and follow-up." Rector Karasar thanked all faculty and administrative staff for their dedicated efforts and congratulated the departments on their success.
The Cappadocia University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, one of the few accredited Gastronomy and Culinary Arts departments in Turkey, is expected to rank high in the rankings with its inclusion in the ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) preference guide.
Only two universities in Turkey currently offer accredited associate degree programs in tourist guiding. In this regard, Cappadocia University's Tour Guiding Department stands out as one of the first universities to achieve this accreditation. It is anticipated that this accreditation will mark a milestone nationwide, demonstrating the quality of its education.
Both programs, which have successfully completed the accreditation process, will remain accredited until January 1, 2026.
