We attended the "National Artificial Intelligence Summit" held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

The “National Artificial Intelligence Summit from Data to Decision,” held in the Parliament Ceremony Hall under the auspices of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, brought together the public, private sector, and academia.

The "National Artificial Intelligence Summit: From Data to Decisions," organized under the auspices of Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), took place in the Parliament Ceremony Hall. The summit, which aimed to define Turkey's national vision and strategic roadmap in the field of artificial intelligence, brought together representatives from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.

The program included: Attendees included Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, AK Party Group Chair Abdullah Güler, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, TBMM Secretary General Talip Uzun, Chairman of the TBMM Artificial Intelligence Research Commission and AK Party Eskişehir Deputy Fatih Dönmez, AK Party Information and Communication Technologies Chair and Ankara Deputy Ömer İleri, CHP Deputy Chair Gülşah Deniz Atalar, MHP Deputy Chair and Istanbul Deputy İsmail Faruk Aksu, İYİ Party Turkic World and International Organization Chair and Adana Deputy Ayyüce Türkeş, Yeni Yol Party Deputy Chair Ahmet Selim Çalışkan, AK Party Group Deputy Chairs, Members of Parliament, rectors, bureaucrats, and invited guests.

Our university was represented at the summit by Advisory Board Member Sertaç Yerlikaya and Artificial Intelligence Studies Commission Chair Prof. Dr. Candan Gökçeoğlu. Participants actively participated in sessions on the future of our country's artificial intelligence policies and the steps to be taken in this area.

Artificial Intelligence and Politics, Legal Regulations, and Social Impacts Discussed at the Summit

The "Artificial Intelligence and Politics" session held as part of the summit discussed the impacts of artificial intelligence on modern democracies, electoral processes, and social structures. Additionally, the impacts of artificial intelligence applications on the labor market, legal and ethical regulations, and ecosystem creation efforts were discussed in detail.

Contributing to Turkey's Future in Artificial Intelligence

Our university continues to contribute to our country's digital transformation process through research and education in artificial intelligence and data science. Projects carried out in the Artificial Intelligence Studies Commission and relevant academic units, in particular, are shaped by the goal of developing ethically and socially focused artificial intelligence applications. Our university, through national and international collaborations, is working to ensure the effective and efficient use of artificial intelligence technologies in many sectors, particularly healthcare, tourism, aviation, and education.

As KÜN, we will continue to actively participate in such organizations, contribute to our country's artificial intelligence ecosystem, and guide young researchers into this field, with the aim of developing artificial intelligence in a human-centered, ethical, and sustainable manner.
