As part of our university's 2024-2025 Spring Semester activities, an event titled "The Importance of a Psychosocial Approach in Dialysis Patients" was held, highlighting an important issue in healthcare. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mualla Yılmaz from the Department of Mental Health and Disease Nursing at Mersin University's Faculty of Nursing.
In her comprehensive presentation, Prof. Dr. Mualla Yılmaz emphasized the importance of supporting patients undergoing dialysis treatment not only physically but also psychologically and socially. The presentation addressed topics such as the role of effective communication, the empathic relationship between patient and healthcare professional, holistic care, a humanistic approach, current scientific research findings, and the responsibilities of dialysis technicians working in the field in patient care.
