The 1st International Conference on Environmental Digital Governance, hosted by Cappadocia University, was held with the participation of national and international experts in the fields of digital governance, environmental sustainability, and financial management.

At the conference opening, Hüdai Ekinci, Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Governance Professionals, highlighted the growing importance of digital governance on a global scale. Prof. Dr. Lourens Erasmus, Cappadocia University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar, and numerous academics and experts contributed to the different sessions of the program.

Rector Prof. Dr. In his speech, Hasan Ali Karasar reminded us that humanity has faced many crises throughout history and said:

“Every crisis has taught us something. However, this new era presented by climate change and digital transformation demands much more comprehensive and collaborative solutions from all of us.”

As part of the conference program, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Dr. İlhan Hatipoğlu addressed the role of financial governance and artificial intelligence applications in digital governance. Hatipoğlu provided participants with comprehensive information on current strategies and practices in this area.

Osman Turan, representing the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, also shared his experiences in digital transformation and strategic governance at the conference, emphasizing the importance of the implementation processes and governance mechanisms of digital projects carried out in Turkey.

The conference, held with the contributions of national and international experts, was successfully concluded with the aim of raising awareness in the areas of digital governance and environmental sustainability, strengthening knowledge sharing, and paving the way for new collaborations.
