The EurSafe 2026 Congress, organized for the first time in Turkey through a collaboration between our university and the Association for Agriculture and Food Ethics (TARGET), concluded following a four-day scientific program held in Mustafapaşa from September 9–12.
Hosted by our university, the congress brought together academics, researchers, young scientists, and experts from various countries in Cappadocia, providing an international platform for discussing current ethical issues regarding the future of agriculture and food.
The Future of Agriculture and Food Was Addressed from Multiple Perspectives
Throughout the congress, topics such as agricultural and food ethics, sustainability, climate change, water resource use, technological transformation, and the impacts of artificial intelligence and digitalization on agricultural and food systems were evaluated from both scientific and ethical perspectives.
In keynote speeches, academic presentations, and thematic sessions, researchers from various disciplines shared their work and research findings with participants, while current issues shaping the future of agriculture and food systems were addressed from diverse perspectives.
In the thematic workshops held prior to the conference, young researchers and doctoral students had the opportunity to share, discuss, and refine their work with leading experts in the field.
Our Vision for Sustainability Is Strengthened Through International Collaborations
Hosting the EurSafe Congress in Turkey for the first time at our University marked a significant step in bringing international scientific discussions on agricultural and food ethics to Turkey. The congress also contributed to strengthening the academic partnerships our University has developed with national and international institutions in this field.
Holding the congress in Cappadocia, meanwhile, established a unique connection between the topics discussed and the region’s geography. The region’s agricultural heritage, as well as its natural and cultural landscape, provided a meaningful backdrop for discussions on sustainability, the environment, food systems, and the relationship between humans and nature.
On behalf of Cappadocia University, we would like to thank all participants, speakers, members of the scientific and organizing committees, and our partners who contributed to the success of the conference, which we hosted in Cappadocia as part of EurSafe 2026.
