International Visit to the Gastronomy High School Founded with the Support of Our University

Park Sanghyuk, Head of Korea Seoul Education Office, and her delegation visited Cappadocia Alev Alatlı Gastronomy MTAL as part of a program organized in cooperation with our University.

Park Sanghyuk, Head of the Seoul Metropolitan Municipality Education Office in Korea, and his accompanying delegation, who came to Turkey to examine best practices in vocational and technical education in Turkey and strengthen educational collaborations between the two countries, visited the Cappadocia Alev Alatlı Gastronomy Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, established in collaboration with our university, as part of their visit.

The Cappadocia Gastronomy Academy, established under the "Gastronomy Cooperation Protocol" signed by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, our university, and the Ürgüp Chamber of Commerce, and the high school, which houses practical training classes, were informed about the region's vocational and technical education activities, student practices, and gastronomy-related activities.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the vocational and technical education activities, practical training environments, and students' professional development processes at the Cappadocia Alev Alatlı Gastronomy Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The students shared with the delegation how the practical training they received contributed to their professional goals. The Cappadocia Gastronomy Academy, established in collaboration with our university, operates under the following roof: The delegation was also briefed on the preservation of the region's gastronomy, the preparation of a gastronomy inventory, and sustainability-focused projects.

As part of the program, the delegation met with ASELSAN Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Ankara and Prof. Dr. Ayşen Gürcan, Chair of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Commission. The visits will continue with meetings and programs in Istanbul.

As Cappadocia University, we will continue to contribute to internationally exemplary projects through vocational and technical education collaborations aimed at preserving and developing the region's gastronomy.
