International Volunteer Day
The United Nations General Assembly designated December 5 as International Volunteer Day in order to raise awareness about volunteer work and its contributions to our world, and to increase participation in volunteer programs.
International Volunteer Day is seen as an important opportunity to recognize and promote the concept of volunteering, to make it a part of daily life, and to present and develop the efforts of individual volunteers as well as volunteer organizations at local, national, and international levels.
One of the objectives of our University is to work with volunteer teams, to promote the concept of volunteering, to ensure its adoption, dissemination, and sustainability. International Volunteer Day is an important opportunity to emphasize this objective, to highlight the responsibilities and values that volunteering brings, and to thank our volunteers who give us strength and support.
Cappadocia University organizes events every year on International Volunteer Day to promote and encourage volunteering; ensures that the difference created by community volunteers is recognized, known, and remembered on platforms where knowledge and experiences about volunteer work are shared; and in this way expresses gratitude to the volunteers who support our University and society.
