Kapadokya University Student Rights and Responsibilities
“Student Rights and Responsibilities” aim to contribute to the academic, social, and cultural development of Kapadokya University students, approach the differences of students with fairness, and create a high-quality education and research environment.
The Rights and Responsibilities have been prepared within the framework of fundamental rights and university regulations, with the aim of ensuring that Kapadokya University students become individuals who are sensitive to their environment and aware of their social rights and responsibilities.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
Rights:
1. The right to fair and equal treatment in the education and training process: Ensuring that every student has equal opportunities and is not subject to discrimination,
2. The right to access information and the necessary resources as a student: Allowing students to access the knowledge and resources required to succeed in their courses,
3. The right to academic freedom and freedom of expression: Ensuring that students can freely express their opinions and conduct research freely in academic fields,
4. The right to be in a safe and supportive learning environment: Ensuring that every student learns in a safe environment and that this process is supported,
5. The right to fair access to university services and resources: Ensuring that students can equally access the services and resources provided by the university,
6. The right to participation through the student union or student representatives: Allowing students to have a say and show participation in matters related to university life by electing their own unions or representatives,
7. The right to personal privacy and data protection: Ensuring the protection and confidentiality of students’ personal information and data,
8. The right to access appropriate and effective student counseling and support services: Ensuring that students can easily access the counseling and support services they need,
9. The right to a fair process during disciplinary proceedings: Ensuring that students are treated fairly during disciplinary procedures and that their right to defense is protected,
10. The right to live in a safe and healthy environment as a student: Affirming that every student has the right to live in a safe and healthy environment.
Responsibilities:
1. To comply with the university’s academic rules and standards: Ensuring that every student abides by the rules established by the university,
2. To participate in the education and training process and attend classes on time: Ensuring that students attend classes regularly and on time,
3. To respect the principle of academic integrity and avoid behaviors such as cheating, plagiarism, or copyright infringement: Ensuring that students are honest in their academic work and refrain from fraudulent actions,
4. To behave respectfully and cooperatively toward other students and university staff: Ensuring that students behave respectfully and harmoniously toward others within the university community,
5. To protect and properly use university property and resources: Ensuring that students protect university-owned property and use resources correctly,
6. To keep personal information and data accurate and up to date: Ensuring that students maintain the accuracy and currency of their personal information and data,
7. To actively participate in university life as a member of the student community: Ensuring that students actively take part as members of the university community,
8. To take necessary precautions regarding safety and health and comply with university policies: Ensuring that students take precautions related to safety and health and comply with university policies,
9. To comply with disciplinary procedures and provide the required information and documents: Ensuring that students cooperate with disciplinary processes and submit necessary information and documents,
10. To promote and support the welfare and diversity of the university community: Ensuring that students encourage and support the welfare and diversity of the university community.
