The workshop organized under the Osmaniye Tourism Master Plan prepared with academic contributions of our university brought together provincial protocol, public institutions and industry stakeholders.
Osmaniye Tourism Master Plan Workshop was held with the aim of evaluating Osmaniye's natural, historical and cultural values in the tourism focus, with the participation of Osmaniye Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti. The workshop was attended by Deputy Chairman of Osmaniye Municipality M. Burçin Çıkan, district municipalities, provincial protocol, public institutions and relevant stakeholders.
The programme assessed the city's tourism strengths, areas to be developed and priorities for the future. The historical heritage of Osmaniye, especially the Ancient City of Karatepe-Aslantas and Kastabala, was considered in a holistic tourism perspective along with its highlands, castles, local cuisine and craft culture.
In the workshop, topics such as smart route recommendations, strengthening service standards, development of promotional opportunities and transformation of local values into tourism experience were evaluated in order to position Osmaniye as a more visible, accessible and qualified destination in tourism. It was emphasized that the heritage of the city should be preserved and passed on to future generations and that tourism activities should be planned in such a way as to contribute to local development with a sustainable understanding. The results obtained from the workshop will form the basis for the next stages of the Osmaniye Tourism Master Plan. The planning process, supported by the academic expertise of our university, is aimed to contribute to Osmaniye's creation of a sustainable, qualified and viable development model in tourism.
