Tourism Master Plan Workshop held in Gümüşhane to guide the future of tourism brought together public representatives and academic stakeholders. The workshop, which was held with the participation of Gümüşhane Governor Cevdet Atay, was organized under the coordination of the Governor, in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism

and our University.

Speaking on the program, Governor Cevdet Atay pointed out the tourism potential of Gümüşhane and stated that the results from the workshop will shape the city's tourism roadmap. Gümüşhane Mayor Vedat Soner Başer emphasized the importance of a sustainable tourism master plan and expressed the need to reflect the plan on the field and that all stakeholders act in cooperation. Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Nihal Sürmeli pointed out the changing tourist expectations and stated that Gümüşhane is able to meet these expectations with the values

Fatım Tüzzehra Albayrak shared assessments on current trends in tourism and future planning within the scope of the program, which contributed to the workshop with its scientific content.

In the workshop, themes such as conservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, development of accommodation and travel infrastructure, strengthening rural and ecotourism possibilities, diversification of gastronomic tourism and winter, adventure and sports recreation were discussed. In line with these topics, the focus was on strategic steps to increase the competitiveness of Gümüşhane in tourism.

With the completion of the workshop process, which constitutes the first phase of the Gümüşhane Tourism Master Plan conducted by our University, it is aimed to move to the next stages of the plan in line with the results obtained. This process, shaped by the academic expertise of our university, contributes to Gümüşhane gaining a sustainable and holistic development model in tourism.
