A Strategic Perspective on the Future of Mardin Tourism from Our University

The Mardin Tourism Master Plan prepared by our university was presented to the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

Presentation held at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Mardin Governor Tuncay Ak, Mardin M deputies: Faruk Kılıç and Muhammed Adak, Mardin Provincial Culture Tourism Manager M etin B ilge, Deputy Governor Kübra Karaalioğlu While participating; Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan from our university, Prof. Dr. Halil Burak Sakal and Assistant Professor. Fatım Tüzzehra Albayrak joined. The plan, prepared in order to address the cultural, historical and tourist values possessed by Mardin with a holistic approach, was transferred to Minister Ersoy.

Within the scope of the presentation, the current tourism potential of Mardin, the strengths of the destination, the areas that need to be developed and the strategic goals for the future period were discussed. The study aimed to contribute to the sustainable and planned development of the city in tourism; it was evaluated in terms of destination management, promotion, visitor experience and long-term development of tourism activities.

As the University of Cappadocia, we continue to support the tourism potential of different cities with scientific and strategic studies and contribute to the development of tourism policies on a regional and national scale.
