Cappadocia University Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts aims to train individuals with developed artistic and creative skills, cultural awareness, the ability to make historical and theoretical comparisons, and the competence to contribute to the design of livable environments.
One of the prerequisites for a society to take its place on the world stage is to be represented by its art and artists and to transmit its cultural values and collective memory to younger generations through works of art. This goal can only be achieved by nurturing individuals who, in addition to their artistic identity, are versatile, flexible, humane, democratic, participatory, creative, entrepreneurial, continuously improving their knowledge and skills in line with the requirements of the 21st century, confident, inquisitive, critical, able to discuss, reason, and make decisions, contributing to scientific and artistic knowledge production nationally and internationally, environmentally conscious, and aware of rights and responsibilities.
The construction and building sector, which is the locomotive of the Turkish economy, maintains its dynamism due to factors such as rapidly increasing population, the shift from extended to nuclear families, and urban transformation policies. The sector requires experts who prioritize healthy, qualified construction and urbanization while producing strategies to meet demands and solve problems. Moreover, it is crucial to know, preserve, and pass on the historical and cultural heritage of our ancient geography to future generations. For all these reasons, there is a need for individuals trained in applied education in architecture and planning who can produce practical solutions to encountered problems.
In line with these needs, the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts offers an educational program aimed at creating urban and spatial organization models that meet the living conditions required by societies, based on an original design approach. The faculty aims to train designers, interior designers, environmental designers, and urban planners who can protect environmental, historical, and cultural values, think interdisciplinarily, be socially responsible, and express their creativity.
