What is the Aviation Management Department? Why Should I Study It?

Since 2003, legal regulations, infrastructure, and fleet investments in the civil aviation sector in Turkey have enabled the Turkish Civil Aviation Industry to move from an infancy stage to a period of rapid growth. Civil aviation has become a locomotive sector that not only directly contributes to the national economy but also acts as a catalyst for other industries. Highly qualified personnel, equipped to meet the growing workforce needs of the civil aviation sector in Turkey and worldwide and possessing professional competencies defined by national and international aviation authorities, are essential for the sustainability of the industry. The Aviation Management Department aims to train highly skilled professionals needed by the sector.

Double Major (ÇAP) Opportunities in the Aviation Management Department

Aviation Management students can benefit from the double major (ÇAP) opportunity to expand their career horizons by enriching their expertise in airline management, ground services, and strategic air transportation with complementary aviation disciplines.

Programs You Can Choose for a Double Major

  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technology and Operations

Students accepted into the double major program have the right to receive two separate diplomas by completing their chosen second associate degree program simultaneously with Aviation Management. In this way, they reinforce their airline management and air traffic management skills with cabin services operations or UAV systems expertise, gaining a strong competitive advantage in airline companies, airport operators, defense industry, and R&D centers.

This double major opportunity helps students develop their skills in operational planning, safety management systems, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the integration of innovative aviation technologies, contributing to their distinction in the dynamic aviation industry. For application requirements, success criteria, and quota details, please contact your department advisor.
