The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is a discipline that aims to design living spaces in an aesthetic, functional, and sustainable way. In this program, the interior and exterior values of architectural spaces are considered, focusing on designing them in accordance with natural and built environments, cultural and universal values, and human needs. Interior architects create layout plans to improve the functionality, safety, and aesthetic harmony of spaces, specialize in the use of colors and materials, and carry out environmental design in terms of sub-disciplines such as environmental risks, fire criteria, ecological and economic sustainability, and human psychology.
The education in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design provides students with expertise in technical drawing, computer-aided design (CAD) programs, Photoshop, 3ds Max, and Rhinoceros software. It is also supported with theoretical courses such as design theory, perception and creativity, history of design, sustainability, and material knowledge. Students gain knowledge and skills both technically and theoretically by engaging in multidisciplinary studies in basic design areas.
