UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM ENGLISH COURSES

Undergraduate English courses are offered in two main categories: General English and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). General English courses (LIN101 – LIN102 – LIN103 – LIN104) aim to help students improve their language skills from A1 to B1 levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), focusing on the four core skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These prerequisite courses are offered during the first two years of undergraduate study in both Fall and Spring semesters.
English for Specific Purposes courses are designed within the relevant undergraduate departments and are offered following the successful completion of the English IV course. These courses are developed in integration with students’ professional fields, aiming to enhance their ability to read and comprehend written materials related to their disciplines and to expand their vocabulary through various methods.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSES

Intensive English Courses are designed to provide vocational foreign language training for associate degree programs. Depending on the program, these courses are offered for two or four semesters to equip students with the language proficiency required by their professions.

COMPULSORY ENGLISH COURSES AFTER PREPARATORY EDUCATION

Advanced English courses offered after the preparatory program are designed for students who have successfully completed the preparatory year. Students who have reached at least a B1 level according to the CEFR are expected to further develop their language proficiency through these courses, enabling them to follow up-to-date professional information and communicate effectively with colleagues in their fields.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE COMMON COMPULSORY ENGLISH COURSES

Associate Degree English Courses (ENG161 – ENG162) are introductory English courses offered in the Fall and Spring semesters of the first academic year. These courses follow a common curriculum across all associate degree programs and are mandatory for all students.

ELECTIVE FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES

Elective foreign language courses are offered in undergraduate and associate degree programs for languages other than English. These courses aim to provide students with basic knowledge of the target language, an understanding of the shared characteristics of world languages, and practical skills for daily communication in the selected language.
