In an era where correct, effective, and high-quality communication—a skill indispensable in every aspect of life—is becoming increasingly rare, studying Turkish literature, which represents the Turkish language in its richest and most mature form, at the university level provides individuals with unique knowledge and advantages.

The primary goal of the Turkish Language and Literature Department at Cappadocia University is to train experts who understand the literary, linguistic, and cultural heritage of our rapidly advancing country, are aware of universal values, possess knowledge of local values, are open to technological innovations, and have a consciousness for scientific research and development in today’s globalizing world.

The Department opens doors to the history of Turkish language and literature and the Turkish-speaking world for its students. Our graduates, who know the vast geography where Turkish is spoken, can analyze texts comparatively and read works written in Ottoman Turkish in their original form, step into their professions as well-equipped Turkologists. Through Erasmus and Orhun exchange programs organized by the Turkish Council and bilateral agreements with leading universities of the Turkish world, our students have opportunities to study abroad. Cappadocia University also prepares its students for the press and publishing industry with innovative courses such as Digital Language and Literature, Editing and Authorship, Script Writing Techniques, as well as ongoing educational activities throughout the four years, and provides pedagogical formation for those who wish to become teachers.

Students accepted into the double major program are entitled to receive two separate diplomas by completing a second undergraduate program simultaneously. New Turkish Literature

Old Turkish Literature
