About the Faculty

Cappadocia University Faculty of Dentistry aims to train dentists who view their patients as a whole in terms of overall health, understand the impact of oral health on general health, provide all dental services with a preventive approach, excel in clinical decision-making and clinical causality, and possess the necessary competencies to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health problems at both individual and societal levels.

The Faculty of Dentistry covers education and research in areas such as the protection of oral and dental health, treatment of potential diseases, restoration of lost functions through prosthetic/restorative applications, and dental and jaw surgeries.

Cappadocia University Faculty of Dentistry equips its graduates with the tools and competencies to work at national and international levels. The detailed curriculum is primarily designed in accordance with the international competencies required of a graduate dentist (www.adee.org). Throughout the dental education process, group work, student-centered approaches, and active learning models are applied.

The dental curriculum in the first year includes basic medical sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, as well as a Manipulation course. In the following semesters, education continues with courses related to oral and dental health diagnosis and treatments (specific to dentistry fields such as Orthodontics, Periodontology, Endodontics, Prosthetic Dentistry, etc.), with both theoretical lessons and laboratory and clinical practice-focused courses. Additionally, students take Global Awareness courses that support personal development, such as "Time and Project Management," "Professional Ethics," and "Mathematics and Statistics," alongside field-specific professional knowledge and skills.

Graduates of the program receive the title of "Dentist." Graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry can work as dentists in public institutions, private clinics, or hospitals. They can advance their careers by taking the Dental Specialty Examination (DUS) or pursuing postgraduate education at health sciences institutes affiliated with state or foundation universities.
