The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department is a field of health sciences that works to improve individuals’ quality of life by applying physiotherapy-specific evaluation methods and treatment approaches in any condition that causes functional impairment. The aim of this department is to train qualified physiotherapists who can work in a wide range of areas such as hospitals, medical centers, sports clubs, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, thermal spas, and wellness centers.
The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at Cappadocia University offers students intensive practical training alongside theoretical courses. Students have the opportunity to practice in the university’s application laboratories, at the Physical Therapy and Healthy Living Application and Research Center, and in workplaces that have signed cooperation protocols with our university. Additionally, through the Erasmus program, our students can study at partner universities abroad. Our curriculum is designed not only to provide full professional competence but also to educate individuals who are well-equipped, proficient in a foreign language, and aware of lifelong learning.
Graduates of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department can work in numerous areas including inpatient treatment centers (university, public, and private hospitals), outpatient medical centers, sports and fitness centers, prosthetics-orthotics rehabilitation centers, industrial institutions, special education and rehabilitation centers, amateur and professional sports clubs, national teams, elderly care and rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, occupational rehabilitation centers, thermal spa and wellness centers, and home care services. In addition, they may pursue master’s and doctoral programs at universities and become research/teaching staff.
At Cappadocia University’s Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, in addition to the field-specific professional knowledge and skills gained through standard undergraduate education, students also take courses such as “Research Methods and Techniques,” “Medical Ethics and Deontology,” and “Mathematics and Statistics,” which support their personal development.
The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical courses specific to the field. Along with basic medical sciences courses such as Physiology and Anatomy, students take courses in Electrotherapy, Measurement and Evaluation, Kinesiology and Biomechanics, Manual Therapy Approaches, Basic Exercise Practices, and Rehabilitation Practices in Orthopedic, Neurological, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Sports, Pediatric, and Geriatric fields. The curriculum is continuously updated in line with current knowledge and the advancement of medical science to ensure students’ professional development.
