Radiotherapy technicians work as part of an important team alongside radiation oncology doctors and medical physicists. They are healthcare professionals who apply radiation therapy to areas determined by doctors and medical physicists and prepare patients for this treatment.
The Radiotherapy Program at Cappadocia Vocational School aims to train responsible technicians who value professional ethics, follow oncologists’ instructions, perform diagnostic imaging, administer radiation therapy, monitor patients during treatment, and carry out maintenance and minor repairs of radiotherapy devices.
Having expert faculty members collaborating with the sector and providing laboratory support, active field applications, and periodic internship opportunities makes studying at Cappadocia University a unique privilege in the Radiotherapy Program.
Radiotherapy students can enrich the technical and clinical expertise gained in oncological treatments with a complementary discipline through the double major (ÇAP) opportunity, expanding their career prospects.
Medical Imaging Techniques
Students accepted for ÇAP can complete the Medical Imaging Techniques associate degree program simultaneously with their main Radiotherapy program and earn two separate diplomas. This allows them to combine radiotherapy planning and application skills with advanced imaging methods, providing a competitive advantage in clinics, cancer centers, and hospitals.
This double major opportunity helps students stand out in the dynamic oncology and healthcare sector by improving patient safety, diagnosis-treatment integration, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills. For application conditions, success criteria, and quota details, please contact your program advisor.
Graduates of the Radiotherapy Program can work in public and private hospitals with radiation oncology departments, universities, healthcare ministry treatment centers, private clinics, and outpatient clinics.
Additionally, radiotherapy graduates can transfer via DGS to the following open education programs at Anadolu, Atatürk, and Istanbul Universities:
