Opticians are technicians responsible for preparing eyeglass lenses according to the prescription provided by an ophthalmologist, fitting the lenses into frames suitable for the patient and their condition, and ensuring the lenses and frames align with the eye and anatomical characteristics.
The academic staff of the Opticianry Program at Cappadocia Vocational School consists of experienced professionals who have worked for many years in both the industry and academia. Our instructors share their experience to support the personal and academic development of students. Additionally, the laboratory equipment allows students to overcome all challenges they may encounter in the field. Graduates of the Opticianry Program acquire the skills necessary to meet all the needs of the sector.
Graduates of the Opticianry Program can open their own optical stores or work as responsible managers in various optical shops.
Opticianry students can broaden their career horizons by enriching their technical and clinical skills with a complementary discipline, benefiting from the double major (ÇAP) opportunity.
Audiometry
Students accepted for ÇAP can complete the Audiometry associate degree program simultaneously with their main Opticianry program and earn two separate diplomas. This combination allows them to merge optical product knowledge and eyewear production/application expertise with hearing and balance assessment skills, giving them a competitive advantage in optical centers, audiology clinics, and integrated healthcare units.
This double major opportunity enhances students’ communication with patients, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the ability to provide integrated vision-hearing healthcare services, helping them stand out in the dynamic health and optical sector. The Opticianry Program includes professional courses as well as basic health sciences and elective courses.
