Medical imaging technicians provide services in units requested for disease diagnosis such as direct radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography, ultrasonography, or in preparing and operating devices for patients receiving radiation therapy, as well as in various units of the nuclear medicine department.
In the Medical Imaging Techniques Department, students are trained to utilize high-tech imaging systems (Conventional and Digital Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Digital Subtraction Angiography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, etc.) for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes based on the fundamental medical and radiology knowledge they gain during their education and practical hospital applications. Graduates are equipped to apply evolving technology in the field, have technical skills and knowledge synthesis ability, excellent hand-eye coordination, radiation protection awareness for their own and patient safety, and effective coordination with physicians.
Kapadokya University provides students with up-to-date knowledge in programs that address the needs of the country with young, dynamic, and qualified faculty members. Students have the opportunity to practice at private and public hospitals.
Graduates of the Medical Imaging Techniques Department can work as technicians in public and private hospitals, private medical centers, and imaging centers in departments such as Radiology (Conventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Angiography, Mammography, Fluoroscopy), Nuclear Medicine, and Radiotherapy.
Students in the Medical Imaging Techniques Program can take advantage of the double major (ÇAP) opportunity to expand their career horizons by complementing their expertise in advanced imaging technologies with oncological treatment disciplines.
Radiotherapy
Students accepted into the double major program can complete the Radiotherapy associate degree program simultaneously with their main program in Medical Imaging Techniques and obtain two separate diplomas. This allows them to combine skills in MRI, CT, and radiography with radiotherapy planning and application expertise, gaining a strong competitive advantage in oncology centers, hospitals, and imaging laboratories.
This double major opportunity enhances students' patient safety, diagnosis-treatment integration, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills, helping them stand out in the dynamic healthcare and oncology services sector.
