Audiometry technicians are healthcare technicians who perform necessary tests on patients with a determined indication using the appropriate equipment.

What Do Audiometry Program Graduates Do? What Are the Job Opportunities?

An audiometry technician or audiometrist performs pure tone and speech audiometry tests as well as immittance measurements for hearing evaluation. They record the type and degree of hearing loss and patient cooperation in a test form. They can apply hearing tests to newborns and conduct hearing screenings in schools. They take ear mold impressions for hearing aid fitting, measure the gain and output values of selected devices, and adjust them accordingly.

Graduates can work under the supervision of audiologists or ENT specialists in public or private hospitals. They may also work in hearing aid production or sales centers and companies.
