The award-winning “High School Âşık-Style Poetry Writing” competition organized by our Department of Turkish Language and Literature has begun.
The aim of the competition is to help young people improve their writing skills by composing poems in the traditional âşık style; to enable them to use their feelings, thoughts, and observation skills; and to encourage them to produce poetry in the âşık manner.
In line with this aim, the competition covers all high school-level secondary education institutions in Turkey.
Young poets following in the footsteps of the âşıks... Let your pen be your saz.

AWARDS
1st Place: 10,000 TL
2nd Place: 7,500 TL
3rd Place: 5,000 TL
The top 20 finalists will each be awarded 10 books.
