The Artvin 2026-2030 Tourism Master Plan Workshop, designed by Cappadocia University using a specialized methodology and priority area structure centered on Artvin's tourism potential, was held in Artvin on September 29, 2025. The workshop aimed to develop a roadmap that will define the city's tourism vision.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the Artvin Governorate, the Artvin Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Artvin Çoruh University, local governments, industry stakeholders, academics, and civil society representatives.
With its academic knowledge and institutional experience, Cappadocia University pioneered a planning process based on Artvin's unique natural, cultural, and historical assets. This approach aims to contribute to the city's attainment of its deserved position in tourism.
The workshop addressed the necessary steps to develop Artvin's potential and enhance its visibility at both the national and international levels. Cappadocia University's academic approach, focused on local priorities, and its strong stakeholder collaboration were evaluated.
Artvin's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and areas for development were discussed through an interactive search conference and thematic table sessions, drawing on the views of participants. City-specific solution-focused recommendations were developed in the areas of nature tourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, sports tourism, gastronomy, promotion and marketing, destination management, digitalization, and smart tourism.
