Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems Application And Research Center
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Research Center is authorized to provide pilot training for all classes of UAVs, and provides also theoretical and practical UAV pilot training, legislation development and software development services. In addition, R&D activities are carried out in the UAV design workshops established by the center, and various projects have been launched into the development of UAVs and their sub-systems in cooperation with companies operating in the defense, logistics, agriculture and counterterrorism sectors.
AUTHORIZATION TO PROVIDE UAV PILOTING TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
Cappadocia University is authorized by the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority to provide UAV-0, UAV-1 commercial piloting and UAV-2, UAV-3 theoretical training. Pilots are trained in our center to operate UAVs in different categories, from hobby UAVs to industrial/agricultural drones. Since its establishment, over 1,600 pilots have received training and been certified by our center.
SERVICES CARRIED OUT IN COOPERATION WITH DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF CIVIL AVIATION
In cooperation with the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority, Cappadocia University has developed software to ease the import, sale, recording and registration of civil UAV systems and to monitor their airworthiness. As a result, all UAVs weighing 500 gr and above in Turkey are now registered. In addition to keeping records, the system also operates the flight permissions system across Turkey.
